Transfers - External Transfers
Connect to your external Checking Accounts and make payments to your Eglin FCU loans and credit cards with this feature. Please note: You MUST have an established Eglin FCU credit card or loan for this option to be made available to you.
Initial Setup
To begin you will need to establish a connection to your account(s) at your other financial institution.
Follow these steps to do so:
Log into your account via the app or browser. If you're on the Mobile App, navigate to "Services" and select "External Transfers". In Online Banking, select "External Transfers" from the "Transfers" dropdown menu. Initially, you won't see any active accounts on the External Transfers page. To link accounts from other financial institutions, click "Add Account". You'll need to identify your other financial institution by its routing number, phone number, or name, and provide your account number there. You also have the option to rename the account for display purposes. After entering all necessary details, click "Continue". Within 2-3 business days, you'll receive three small deposits in your external account. Once received, log back into your account and return to the External Transfers section. Your account should now be listed there. Click on the prompt to verify, and enter the three deposit amounts. Click "Confirm" to complete the verification. Please note, you won't be able to use these accounts for external transfers until you've verified the three deposit amounts. After successful verification, your external checking account will appear in the External Transfers section of Online Banking and the Mobile App.
Making an External Transfer
Once the process for connecting your external Checking Account is complete, you may request a transfer of funds from that account to your Eglin FCU credit card or loan (external transfers to Eglin FCU mortgages are not currently available).
If you are using the Mobile App, simply transfer the funds from your external account to your Eglin FCU loan or Mastercard from the Transfers section and select the frequency, date and amount you wish to transfer. You will then need to agree to the terms and confirm the transfer. Please note it may take several business days for the funds to transfer from your external account.
To make an external transfer via Online Banking, select "External Transfers" from the "Transfers" dropdown menu. From there, select "Request" to access the "Request Money" page. Choose your external checking account under "From" and the Eglin FCU loan or credit card under "To". Select the frequency, date and amount you wish to transfer and submit the transfer. You will then need to agree to the terms and confirm the transfer. Please note it may take several business days for the funds to transfer from your external account.
External Transfers feature is limited to inbound payments only, outbound transfers to other banks are not supported. To send money out of your Eglin FCU account to your account at another financial institution, you must use a different service (not External Transfers). To transfer funds from another financial institution to your Eglin FCU Checking or Savings account, you have several options: Wire the funds, deposit them at an ATM or Video Teller, mail us a check, or visit a branch during business hours to deposit the funds in person. If mailing a check, please 'pay to the order of' your name, include your account number and the suffix in the memo line, endorse the back, and send it to Eglin Federal Credit Union, 838 Eglin Parkway NE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547.
How can I transfer money to my other bank? To send money out of your Eglin FCU account to your account at another financial institution, you must use a different service (not External Transfers), you have several options: If you have checks, you can write a check to yourself from your Eglin account and mobile deposit it to your other financial institution. Visit a local Eglin FCU branch and request a teller check and mobile deposit the teller check to your other FI. You can also initiate a wire transfer from your Eglin FCU account to your other account at another bank or credit union (see our Service Fee Schedule for current fees associated with domestic wires).
