Can I set up a Western Union transfer?
We do not directly partner with Western Union, however we can assist you with sending money through a domestic bank wire transfer. See our service fees page for the current fee for domestic bank wires. We do not currently initiate international wires.
How can I transfer funds from my Eglin FCU account to my other financial institution?
To transfer funds from your Eglin FCU account to your deposit or share account at another financial institution, contact an Eglin FCU representative by calling 850.862.0111, Option 4, or visit a branch so that they assist you with initiating a domestic bank wire.
Do you offer Cashier's Checks?
Yes, the Credit Union offers Cashier’s Checks. We also offer Credit Union Checks (also called Official Checks or Teller Checks) that may be issued up to the available balance in a member’s account. Both Cashier’s Checks and Credit Union Checks are treated as guaranteed funds because they are drawn on the Credit Union’s account. Funds are transferred from the member’s account to the Credit Union’s account, and the check is made payable to a specified recipient. Both types of checks offer convenient payment options when personal checks or other forms of payment aren’t accepted by a payee. Cashier’s Checks tend to be the preferred payment method in brokerage or real estate transactions. Up to three Credit Union Checks can be requested each month at no cost for members. A fee is charged for Cashier’s Checks. Both Cashier’s Checks and Credit Union Checks are free for seniors. You may request Cashier’s Checks and Credit Union Checks at any branch location during business hours. To see Service Fees, go to eglinfcu.org/fees.
Do you offer Cashier's Checks? All members in good standing, including those who do not have a Checking Account or do not use personal checks, can request either a Cashier's Check or a Credit Union (Teller) check up to the value of the available balance in their account. Both types of official checks offer convenient payment options when personal checks or other forms of payment (like debit or credit cards) aren't accepted. Cashier's and Credit Union checks are considered guaranteed funds because they are drawn from the Credit Union's account, not your personal account. However, Cashier's Checks tend to be the preferred payment method in brokerage or real estate transactions. When purchasing these checks, funds are transferred from your account to the Credit Union's account, and the check is made payable to the specified recipient. Both Cashier's Checks and Credit Union (Teller) checks are free for seniors. Up to three Credit Union Checks can be requested each month at no cost for all other members, but a small fee is required for all Cashier's Checks. You may request a Cashier's or Teller check at any branch location during business hours. For the fee amount go to eglinfcu.org/fees.
Can I wire funds internationally?
Eglin Federal Credit Union only offers domestic wires and doesn't offer international wire services. Wires may, however, be sent to U.S. military installations that are located in a foreign country. These wires must be delivered to a financial institution located on the U.S. military base and funds must be in U.S. dollars.
Can I wire funds internationally? We only offer domestic bank wires and do not provide international wire services. Therefore, we do not have an IBAN number or a SWIFT code.
How can I deposit cash after hours or on weekends?
We have many local ATMs along with thousands of other ATMs in our surcharge-free network that accept cash or check deposits 24/7. We also provide safe, convenient depository boxes at all branch locations for making cash deposits after hours and on weekends. Funds deposited in an ATM may not be available for immediate withdrawal. Please refer to your financial institution’s rules governing funds availability for details.
How do I make a loan payment? You have several convenient options for making loan payments. You can easily make a loan payment by transferring funds from your Eglin FCU Checking or Savings account through our Online Banking service or Mobile App. Alternatively, you can use the External Transfers feature within Online Banking or the Mobile App to make a payment to your loan from your checking or savings account at another financial institution. If you prefer, you can request to make a loan payment at one of our Video Teller machines during business hours, or you can visit any of our local branches to make a loan payment in person. If none of these options suit you, sending your loan payment with a check via mail is always an option. Should you need more information on loan payment options, feel free to give us a call at 850.862.0111, Option 2, or stop by one of our branch locations during business hours.
What is a money order?
A money order is a prepaid paper document used to pay for goods or services, guaranteed by the issuer, often used for secure and convenient payments where cash or personal account information is not desired. You purchase it from credit unions like Eglin FCU, banks, post offices, or stores, fill in the recipient's details, and keep the receipt. Money orders are useful for sending money without revealing sensitive information. To request a money order, please visit one of our local branches during business hours. See our Service Fee Schedule for current pricing.
What is a bank draft?
A bank draft is a payment instrument issued by a bank, similar to a check, but drawn on the bank's own funds, making it more secure than a personal check. At Eglin FCU, we do not offer bank drafts because we are a credit union, not a bank. Instead, we provide Cashier's Checks and Teller Checks. To request one, please visit a branch during business hours. Refer to our Service Fee Schedule for current pricing.
