New Video Teller Drive-Thru Coming Soon to Santa Rosa Beach

Eglin Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that construction is underway on a new drive-thru location at 4634 U.S. Highway 98 W, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459, next to Louis Louis seafood restaurant. This drive-thru location will open in 2026, and a full-service branch will be added in the future.

At the drive-thru, members can speak with a live teller via two-way video during regular business hours. Video Tellers are available 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until 7 p.m. on Fridays. These personalized tellers can assist with deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments and account questions. The Video Teller drive-thru also functions as an ATM 24/7 using an Eglin FCU ATM or Debit Card.

This will be Eglin FCU’s third location in Walton County, and we are excited to expand our services to members in the Santa Rosa Beach community.

The Annual Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 26, 2026. The meeting will be held at the Niceville Community Center at 204 Partin Drive North. Registration will begin at 6:15 p.m. and the meeting will be called to order at 7 p.m. Please check our website, eglinfcu.org, for updates. The Nominating Committee confirmed current Directors, Russ Corbitt, Dan McInnis and Bob Harlan, whose terms are set to expire. All are willing to serve another three-year term. There were no Nominations by Petition; therefore, a mail ballot is not required, and no nominations from the floor will be taken.

The Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) is the 401(k) for federal government employees. Similar to other 401(k) plans, TSP is designed to be simple for all employees and, therefore, limits the investment options available. As you move closer to retirement, these options may not align perfectly with your goals. Fortunately, as you prepare for retirement, you have the opportunity to look beyond TSP’s investment choices.

This feature is called an in-service rollover. Once you reach age 59½, you can transfer some or all of your account balance to an IRA or another retirement account. An in-service withdrawal allows eligible federal employees to access part or all of their TSP funds before separating from federal service. You will continue contributing each paycheck, but now some of your retirement money can be positioned to better meet your goals.

There are many reasons to consider an in-service withdrawal, such as diversification, risk management or income planning. For example, you may want to move to an investment that protects your savings from market losses or set up additional retirement income for the future. With an in-service withdrawal, the entire world of investments becomes available to you.

This little-known option can provide peace of mind while you continue to grow your nest egg in a way that you and your advisor believe is best. The process is generally straightforward, and we have guided many clients through it over the years. However, there are eligibility rules to consider. Spotting elder financial abuse

Elder financial abuse is a growing concern, and it often goes unnoticed. Fraudsters may pressure, trick or manipulate older adults into giving away their money. Sometimes the abuse even comes from someone they trust, like a caregiver or family member.

Many seniors feel embarrassed or afraid to speak up, which is why it is important for all of us to stay alert and ask questions when something does not feel right.

Behavioral red flag examples

Sudden and unusual changes in contact information or new connections to emails and phone numbers
Appearing distressed, submissive, fearful or anxious to follow others’ directions related to financial accounts
Mentioning how a new online friend or romantic partner is asking them to receive and forward money to one or more individuals on their behalf
Appearing to take directions from someone with whom they are speaking on a cell phone while completing a transaction

Financial red flag examples

Sudden purchase of large numbers of gift cards or prepaid access cards
Sending multiple checks or wire transfers with the words “winnings” or “taxes” in the memo
Sudden or frequent non-sufficient funds activity
Receiving or transferring funds interstate or abroad to recipients with whom they have no in-person relationship

What you can do

If you are helping a senior with their finances or just looking out for a loved one, here are a few questions you can ask:

Why are you sending money?
Do you know the person you are sending it to?
Have you confirmed the story (injury, jail, prize, etc.)?
Were you promised a credit card or loan in exchange for payment?

If something feels off, pause the transaction and contact our Fraud Department immediately. Acting quickly can make all the difference.
